UK Commercial Import Clearance
HMRC customs entry, tariff classification, and import VAT, routed to a partner who handles your commodity type routinely.
UK Commercial Import Clearance overview
Commercial imports cover any goods entering the UK for resale, business use, manufacturing, or as samples and exhibition stock. Every commercial shipment requires an HMRC customs declaration through CDS, the Customs Declaration Service.
We route your enquiry to a partner with a current track record on your commodity type and trade lane. A broker fluent in textile imports is not the right pick for medical devices or food, and vice versa. We make the match before you meet the partner.

What the matched partner does
Your matched partner files the customs entry, classifies goods under the UK Global Tariff, manages duty and import VAT, and liaises with HMRC if the entry is queried. They invoice you directly. Portix Global is not involved in the financial settlement.
Common questions
Do I need an EORI number?
Yes, for almost all commercial imports. We can route an EORI application enquiry separately if you do not yet have one. See the EORI Application service.
Will I see a final duty figure in advance?
Your partner can provide an indicative figure once they have your commercial invoice and HS classification. Final duty is set by HMRC at the point of declaration.
What if HMRC queries my entry?
Your partner handles the query directly with HMRC and updates you. If escalation is needed, Portix Global will stay in the loop.
